You may also find additional information in Publication 519 (Employee's Withholding Tax Guide) or the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Publication 590-A (Reporting and Paying Withholding on Wages and Other Amounts). When a Form W-2gu is received, whether it is an automated return or a paper Form W-2, the employee should be instructed to save the Form W-2gu for future use. What are the requirements for furnishing Schedule C and Form 1040? Although Form W-2j is not required for filers who need Form W-2gu for estimated 2017 taxes, both forms are required for those who need Form W-2gu for estimated 2018 taxes. To submit Form W-2j, you'll need to complete Form W-2j with an estimated tax payment as required by Code Section 4971. If you do not receive an estimated tax payment from the IRS at the time the IRS sends Form W-2j to you, you must complete and mail Form W-2j to us at the correct address shown below. What if my estimated taxes are too low for my 2018 filing? To request a “significant” reduction in estimated tax from your employer, complete your Form 5965. You do not need to complete and submit Form W-2j to request a reduction in estimated taxes.

This is a paper form, not an online form. It is best to do this work in person. Make sure to include your Social Security number, address, and date of birth. If you are filing Form W-2w2 for a child of yours living outside the United States, and if you will not file Form W-2w2 with the IRS, fill out an additional form, Form W-2(with W-2e). The Form W-2e must be signed by all the child's parents and must include information from the child's Form W-2(without W-2g) and the child's statement that the child can claim the full refund (without limitation).
